As part of the city’s 125th anniversary celebration, residents are invited to take a cinematic journey through Henryetta’s past. On Saturday, Sept. 27, a special film screening will showcase highlights from the town’s history, compiled by local historian Bruce Jones.
The event will take place at The Briefcase from 6-9 p.m., during Henryetta’s popular Cruise Knight festivities. The feature presentation, Henryetta’s 125 Years of History, will bring together stories, photographs and film clips to capture the spirit of a community that has thrived since its first post office opened in 1900.
— Special keepsakes, digital copies available Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase their own digital copy of the film. Each purchase includes not only the full documentary but also exclusive extra footage and a commemorative quasquicentennial keychain honoring the city’s milestone.
For those who wish to secure their copy in advance, pre-orders can be placed now through the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce. Community members may contact the Chamber directly for details on how to purchase.
— Supporting the Henryetta Historical Society A $30 donation is suggested for the film screening. Proceeds will help benefit the Henryetta Historical Society, ensuring that the city’s stories, artifacts, and photographs are preserved for future generations.
— A Night of Community & Celebration The 125th-anniversary screening is not just a look back – it’s a celebration of Henryetta’s enduring pride and progress. The evening promises to be a highlight of the anniversary festivities, bringing together current and former residents, history enthusiasts and families who want to reflect on the town’s legacy.
As the city marks its quasquicentennial, this event will stand as a tribute to the people, places, and memories that have shaped Henryetta into “a town of legends, cowboys and heroes.”
