Henryetta is about to get a whole lot merrier – and cooler this Friday, July 25, as the Henryetta Chamber of Commerce transforms downtown into a festive playground for its “Christmas in July” celebration. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 5th & Trudgeon, and promises to be one of the most exciting events of the summer, with something for every member of the family.
From delicious food and sweet treats to giveaways and a unique toy drive challenge, Chamber Director Genny Mooney said this event is a can’t-miss for the community.
“I promise you don’t want to miss this Christmas in July event,” Mooney said. “We will have vendors of every type, food trucks, snow cones, ice cream, lemonade, baked sweets, candy … plus giveaways, a 50/50 draw- ing, music and fun for everyone!”
And the guest list? Let’s just say it’s legendary. Summer Santa is making his return to Henryetta- alongside his not-so-jolly rival, the Grinch, who’s ready to stir up some playful mischief in a Toy Drive Showdown that benefits Shriners Children’s Hospital in Louisiana, where many Oklahoma kids receive care.
“The America’s Guardians Motorcycle Club and the Henryetta Chamber Santa have been collecting toys all year,” Mooney shared. “But now Santa has been challenged by the Grinch! Bring a toy and choose your side-Santa’s jolly box or the Grinch’s grumpy one. It’s all in good fun and for a great cause.”
Attendees are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for the cause. Kids who visit the Toy Drive station will receive a goodie bag, and families will have plenty of opportunities to snap festive photos with Summer Santa and the Grinch themselves.
The event will also feature a bustling vendor market with over 32 vendors and counting, offering a wide variety of handmade goods, gifts, clothing, home décor and more. It’s a perfect chance to shop local, support small businesses and snag some deals-even if it’s still five months before Christmas.
“We had so much fun at our Mistletoe Market, we decided Santa needed to come back for Christmas in July!” Mooney said. “This is a one-day-only event, and every hour will be filled with something exciting.”
Beyond shopping and snacking, families can enjoy music, activities for all ages and even cool down in the splash zone and kiddie pools. It’s a playful blend of holiday cheer and summer fun-Henryetta style.
“Visit Henryetta while you’re in town!” Mooney encouraged. “We’re a small town with a big Christmas spirit. This is a perfect way to cool down, shop, eat and enjoy a festive day with the whole family.”
So, mark your calendars, load up your sleigh (or minivan) and head to 5th & Trudgeon in Henryetta this Friday for a day of laughter, giving and good old-fashioned holiday spirit-just with a little more sunshine and popsicles.
