2 Chronicles 20:12, 15 - “Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” He [Jahaziel] said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’” For the most part, King Jehoshaphat tried to live as his ancestor King David had. Although he didn’t have the peace that King Solomon had, Jehoshaphat did have wisdom enough to recognize Who was actually in charge, and when Jahaziel spoke up, the king listened and obeyed. The Lord routed the enemy and Judah was spared. We may never have to face a body armed against us, but we do face battles daily, whether physical, mental, or spiritual. And we can be 100% assured of success when we have our faith laid squarely at the feet of our Lord. He has made the earth and all that is in it and therefore runs it all, so we are foolish if we think we have all the controls in our hands. God has been, is now, and will always be in charge. His will shall be done! Our job is to live as much as we can with the trust Christ had in God’s plan. Everything about Him is perfection so there are never mistakes when we let Him lay it all out for us. If we have faith that the Father is doing His work of protecting us, we never need worry. Everything will happen as He planned it. It is His job, after all.
