James “Jimmy” Boerstler, a lifelong resident of Henryetta, died July 9, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on April 10, 1953, in Henryetta to Ross Frank and Nellean (Gordon) Boerstler, Jimmy carried on his family’s deep roots in the community. He proudly owned and operated Kennedy Lumber Company in Henryetta, where his family built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships with friends, neighbors and customers alike. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay (Jones) Boerstler of the home; his sons, Will Boerstler of Shawnee and RJ (Phoebe) Boerstler of Henryetta; and his sisters, Jan Prahl of Henryetta and Sally Woodward of Kingwood, Texas.
Memorials can be made in Jimmy’s honor to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research (Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163) or to Hearts for Hearing (8125 E. 101st St. #50, Tulsa, OK 74133). A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Rogers Funeral Home.
