The Henryetta Rotary Club is proud to announce that longtime member Roy Johnson has been elected to the position of Assistant Governor, serving Rotary clubs across Oklahoma. The appointment recognizes Johnson’s extensive leadership experience and long-standing commitment to community service.

Originally from Sacramento, Calif., Johnson earned a degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento. He began his Rotary journey in Gilroy, Calif., where he was a charter member of a morning Rotary club. Within just two years, he was elected club president during the 2006-07 term. His early leadership role marked the beginning of a deep and enduring relationship with the Rotary organization.

Johnson built a distinguished career in wholesale food manufacturing, working as a brand manager and eventually owning a multi-state wholesale bakery business. After decades of service in the grocery industry, he retired and relocated to Oklahoma in 2020. Not long after settling in Henryetta, he joined the local Rotary club and quickly became an integral part of the organization. Within two years, he once again took on the role of club president, bringing energy and experience to the position.

In his new role as Assistant Governor, Johnson will support several Rotary clubs throughout the region, offering guidance, resources and leadership to promote the continued success and growth of each club. His responsibilities will include helping local clubs with strategic planning, facilitating communication with district leadership and encouraging community-based service initiatives. A Paul Harris Fellow, Johnson is also known locally for his involvement in other community service efforts. He is an active member of the Church of Christ in Henryetta and devotes significant time to assisting with the church’s Food Bank, helping meet the needs of families across the community.

In addition to his civic and professional accomplishments, Johnson enjoys an active lifestyle. He can often be found golfing, taking morning walks, or tending to his 60-acre horse ranch. Known for his upbeat attitude and good humor, he brings enthusiasm to every meeting and project he takes on.

With his election to this statewide leadership position, Roy Johnson continues to exemplify the spirit of Rotary and service to others. The Henryetta Rotary Club joins clubs across Oklahoma in congratulating him on this well-earned recognition.
