Below is a breakdown of these federal actions: --- Tulsan sentenced for selling fentanyl, methamphetamine
Defendant: Mark Galen Putnam, 41, of Tulsa Charges: Distribution and Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Sentence: 70 months in prison (all counts to run concurrently) Putnam’s case stemmed from an undercover drug operation led by multiple agencies, including the DEA and the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service. On Sept. 6, 2023, Putnam sold 200 fentanyl pills to an undercover officer. A week later, on Sept. 14, he was arrested while attempting to sell 1,600 more fentanyl pills. Officers also found approximately 16 grams of methamphetamine on him. Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the sentencing hearing, and Putnam will serve a non-paroleable sentence in federal prison.
--- Mexican national pleads guilty to unlawful reentry Defendant: Santos Reyes-Garcia, 37 Charges: Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien Maximum Sentence: Up to 2 years in prison, $250,000 fine Operating under multiple aliases, including Edgar Benjamin Colorado Mora, Reyes-Garcia was discovered in the U.S. on May 5, 2025, after previously being deported and never obtaining permission to return. His case is part of “Operation Take Back America,” a national initiative focused on curbing illegal immigration and dismantling transnational criminal organizations. U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow accepted his guilty plea and ordered a pre-sentence report. Reyes-Garcia will remain in federal custody pending sentencing.
--- Durant man sentenced for illegal firearm possession Defendant: Henry Tyler Allen, 35, of Durant Charge: Felon in Possession of a Firearm Sentence: 77 months in prison Allen was caught with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol on September 24, 2024. As a previously convicted felon, Allen was prohibited from possessing firearms. His sentencing falls under the federal Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, which aims to reduce violent crime and promote community safety. Judge Ronald A. White ordered Allen into U.S. Marshals custody for transport to a Bureau of Prisons facility.
--- Sex offender sentenced to probation for failing to register Defendant: Brian Jene Sullivan, 66, of Shady Point Charge: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender Sentence: 3 years probation Sullivan was convicted in Oregon in 2007 for rape and sodomy in the third degree. He failed to register as a sex offender after moving to Oklahoma and residing within Indian Country from July 2023 to July 2024. Judge White sentenced him to probation, citing the violation of federal sex offender registry laws. --- Pittsburg County man imprisoned for assault with a weapon Defendant: Larry Keith Mickle, 50, of Bache Charge: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon in Indian Country Sentence: 57 months in prison Mickle shot at a victim on June 18, 2024, leaving the person with a head laceration. The incident occurred on Choctaw Nation land in Pittsburg County. The case was investigated by the FBI and local sheriff ’s deputies. U.S. District Judge John F. Heil III issued the sentence, and Mickle will serve time in a federal prison without parole.
--- OKC man sentenced for lying on firearm purchase form Defendant: Tamarion Dejhun Adamson, 31, of Oklahoma City Charge: False Statement in Firearm Acquisition Sentence: 15 months in prison + 3 years supervised release Adamson attempted to buy a firearm from Sulphur Pawn on July 22, 2024, falsely stating on ATF Form 4473 that he was not facing felony charges - despite having active felony cases in Oklahoma County. Judge White handed down the sentence under Project Safe Neighborhoods. Adamson remains in federal custody.
--- Texan pleads guilty to firearm possesion Defendant: Brandon Lee Smith, 30, of Wichita Falls Charge: Felon in Possession of a Firearm Status: Pleaded guilty, awaiting sentencing Smith was found with a semi-automatic pistol on January 18, 2025. Due to his felony history, he was barred from possessing firearms. U.S. Magistrate Judge Edward Snow accepted the plea and ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Smith remains in U.S. Marshals custody.
--- Seminole man admits to possessing stolen handgun
Defendant: Byron Keith Spencer, 53, of Seminole Charge: Possession of a Stolen Firearm Status: Pleaded guilty, awaiting sentencing Spencer was found in possession of a stolen handgun on May 9, 2023. Authorities with the ATF, District 22 Drug Task Force and Wewoka Police investigated the case. Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea, and sentencing will follow completion of a pre-sentence report.
--- Okemah man sentenced for brutal baseball bat assault Defendant: Victor Wayne Andrew Artussee, 33, of Okemah Charges: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Harm in Indian Country Sentence: 41 months in prison (concurrent) Artussee broke into a residence in Okemah on May 11, 2024, and used a baseball bat to attack the occupant, resulting in skull trauma and bone fractures. The assault occurred within the Muscogee Nation. Judge White sentenced Artussee, who will serve his sentence in federal custody.
--- Boynton man pleads guilty to gun store theft Defendant: Jorden James Thierry, 21, of Boynton Charge: Theft of Firearms from a Federally Licensed Dealer Status: Pleaded guilty, awaiting sentencing Thierry stole two semi-automatic pistols from Checotah Gun and Pawn on April 17, 2025. The crime was investigated by ATF and Checotah Police. Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea, and sentencing will follow completion of the pre-sentence report.
