In what many are calling a golden era for Wilson athletics, each of the school’s varsity programs reached new heights, breaking decades-old records and establishing new benchmarks for success.
— Football team makes historic State semifinal run The Wilson Tigers football team, under the guidance of Head Coach LeGrand, delivered a historic season that electrified the community. For the first time in school history, the Tigers advanced to the OSSAA State semifinals, finishing the year with an impressive 10-2 record.
This group of young men believed in themselves from day one, committed to the process, played with heart and made school history. The Tigers’ postseason run energized fans and showcased the growth of the program, setting a new standard for future teams.
— Lady Tigers reach new milestone in Area semifinals Under the leadership of Head Coach Rikki Wolfe, the Wilson Lady Tigers basketball team became trailblazers in their own right. For the first time in school history, the girls team advanced to the Area semifinals, wrapping up a phenomenal season with a 17-6 record.
This team made a name for themselves not just with wins, but with their grit and resilience. “They’ve laid a foundation that future Lady Tigers will build on.”
The historic run ignited enthusiasm across campus and opened a new chapter for girls basketball at Wilson.
— Boys basketball team returns to State finals The Wilson Tigers boys basketball program made its second consecutive trip to the State finals, capping off another strong season with a 20-8 record under Head Coach Grant Proctor.
Returning to the biggest stage in Oklahoma high school basketball confirmed that Wilson’s boys team is among the elite.
To get back to the State finals again speaks volumes about the character of the players. Expect a return next year with an exciting lineup and hopefully another Gold Ball to add to the trophy case.
— Slowpitch softball ends 22-year drought, earns first All-Stater The Lady Tigers slowpitch softball team had a season full of firsts. Under Head Coach Taiah Proctor, the team advanced to Regionals for the first time in 22 years and finished with a strong 17-10 record.
The crowning achievement? Senior standout Janelle Proctor earned Wilson’s first-ever All-State honor in slowpitch softball – a monumental milestone for the program.
Janelle is a once-in-a-generation player, with her All-State honor being well-deserved and long overdue for this program. This entire team gave Wilson School something special to cheer for.
— Track & field returns to State Meet after 17 years Wilson’s track and field program made its own headlines by qualifying three events for the OSSAA State Track Meet – a feat the school hadn’t seen in 17 years.
Led by Head Coach El-Far, the Tigers qualified in the boys 4×100 meter relay, boys 100 meter dash and the girls 300 meter hurdles, marking a major resurgence for the program.
Across the board, 2024-2025 has been a landmark year that has brought the Wilson community together in pride and celebration. Coaches credited their athletes’ work ethic, community support and the school’s commitment to excellence as the driving force behind this year’s success.
