The most frequent type of call involved medical assistance, with 19 incidents (19%) classified as “Medical assist, assist EMS crew.” Close behind were 17 calls (17%) for lock-out incidents, where firefighters responded to help residents gain access to homes or vehicles.
In terms of fire-related responses, the department answered two general fire calls (2%), one building fire (1%) and one cooking fire confined to a container (1%). There were also three calls (3%) for unauthorized burning and 13 calls (13%) for authorized controlled burns, reflecting seasonal outdoor activities and burn permits.
Other notable calls in April included:
• Motor Vehicle Accidents: Three total - one with injuries and two with no injuries.
• Service Calls: Six general service calls, eight distress calls (such as lift assists or welfare checks) and one water problem.
• Public Service Assistance: Included helping other agencies and responding to public needs on three occasions.
• False Alarms and Cancellations: Three false alarms, three dispatch cancellations and one case where no incident was found on arrival.
The department also responded to one incident involving heat from a short circuit and another overpressure or explosion hazard, both requiring immediate safety measures.
