Henryetta, Morris succeed at Inola Meet

The 2025 Inola High School Invitational Track Meet brought together dozens of schools Friday, showcasing strong athleticism across the board. In the final team standings, Verdigris claimed the boys’ overall championship, while Hominy dominated the girls’ division.

The 2025 Inola High School Invitational Track Meet brought together dozens of schools Friday, showcasing strong athleticism across the board. In the final team standings, Verdigris claimed the boys’ overall championship, while Hominy dominated the girls’ division.

Among the competing schools, two Okmulgee County teams - Henryetta and Morris - made their presence felt with several standout performances across running and field events.

--- Henryetta Highlights

The Henryetta Golden Knights turned in multiple top finishes:

• Boys 4x100 Relay: Henryetta’s team of Nathan Nail, Gavin Williams, Jason Powders and Talon Weaver captured 2nd place with a time of 44.70 seconds.

• Boys 4x800 Relay: The squad of Kashton Montgomery, Noah Huckabay, Zadan Montgomery and Ty Goodner placed 9th at 10:13.07.

• Girls 4x800 Relay: Henryetta’s Camrynn Watkins, Kenleigh Kaler, Emma Thompson and Stormi Waquie earned a strong 4th place finish at 11:11.78.

• Boys 4x200 Relay: The team of James Miller, Zadan Montgomery, Jason Powders and Talon Weaver finished 13th at 1:39.33.

• Girls 4x200 Relay: Waquie, Chloe Swearengin, Peyton Bailey and Kenleigh Kaler combined for 13th at 2:02.53.

• Talon Weaver finished 3rd in the Boys 400 meters (51.39 seconds).

• Nathan Nail placed 5th in the Boys 200 meters (23.65 seconds).

• Camrynn Watkins took 3rd in the Girls 800 meters (2:32.05).

• Noah Huckabay finished 19th in Boys 3200 meters.

• Montgomery, Kashton competed in the Boys 800 meters (2:25.84) and Boys 300m hurdles (51.75 seconds).

• Goodner, Ty also competed in the Boys 800 meters (2:30.53) and Boys 400 meters (1:02.46).

• Chloe Swearengin ran the Girls 100 meters (14.77 seconds) and 200 meters (31.55 seconds).

• Joleann Turley clocked 14.78 seconds in the Girls 100 meters and 1:17.36 in the Girls 400 meters.

• Peyton Bailey competed in the Girls 300m hurdles (59.83 seconds).

• Emma Thompson ran in the Girls 200 meters (32.69 seconds).

• Mitchell, Kaylee placed 43rd in the Girls 800 meters (3:16.21).

--- Morris Highlights

The Morris Eagles showed determination and placed well in several events:

• Girls 4x100 Relay: Morris’ team of Taylor Phillips, Phoebe Berryhill, Talee Zackery and Kaylynn Lukenbill finished 16th with a time of 56.19 seconds.

• Girls 4x200 Relay: The squad of Taylor Phillips, Alexis Schell, Lilli Giddens and Sutton Giddens placed 5th at 1:54.60, scoring valuable points.

• Sutton Giddens finished 9th in the Girls 100m Hurdles (18.75 seconds) and 8th in the Girls 300m Hurdles (52.55 seconds).

• Giddens, Lilli earned a 3rd place medal in the Girls 400 meters (1:03.68).

• Phoebe Berryhill also competed in the Girls 200 meters (32.22 seconds).

• Woods, Kaitlyn competed in the Girls 200 meters (33.13 seconds).

• Fixico, Kailyn competed in the Girls 400 meters (1:17.96).

• Taylor Phillips participated in the Girls relays and sprints.

• Talee Zackery and Kaylynn Lukenbill each participated in relays and hurdles.

• Gehring, Amy (Girls 800 meters, 3:07.87) and Baldwin, Audrey (Girls 800 meters, 3:26.11) also represented Morris well.

• Bruce, Andrew, Richardson, Keith and Logan Ferrell ran in the Boys 100 meters with times of 12.43, 12.48 and 13.10 respectively.

• Richardson, Keith also competed in the Boys 200 meters (25.69 seconds).

- Both Henryetta and Morris displayed strong efforts across a wide range of events. With regionals on the horizon, their performances in Inola signal bright potential for postseason success.
