Demons enjoy 4-1 stretch
By PATRICK FORD Editor,

Beggs falls to Kellyville

A four-run first inning by the Kellyville Ponies proved too much for the Beggs Golden Demons to overcome Thursday night, falling 6-0.

Jerrett Hammer pitched six innings for Beggs, allowing six runs on six hits while striking out three. Offensively, Beggs scattered five hits but couldn’t string together enough to push across any runs.

Ranson Stephens, Owen Holland, Jerrett Hammer, Dallas Wilson and Jaxon Remington each had one fit for the Golden Demons.

Colton McCoy anchored the defense with seven fielding plays as Beggs played error-free baseball.

Stephens finished 3-for-4 at the plate and also recorded six defensive chances without an error.

Carson Cooper added a big bat for Beggs, going 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Landon Helt showed great patience, drawing three walks and scoring multiple runs. The Golden Demons racked up 12 walks as a team and swiped six bases, with Cooper stealing two.

Dallas Wilson got the start for Beggs, pitching one and two-thirds innings and striking out three. Landon Helt came on in relief, throwing two and one-third shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three.

— Golden Demons hold off Meeker

Despite a late rally attempt, the Beggs Golden Demons survived a comeback bid by the Meeker Bulldogs to earn a 6-4 win Friday evening.

Beggs jumped out quickly in the bottom of the first inning. Dallas Wilson was hit by a pitch to force in a run, two runs scored on errors, and Kevin Monteque added a two-RBI groundout to cap a four-run opening.

On the mound, Britton Martin was solid for Beggs, tossing a complete game. Martin allowed nine hits and four runs across seven innings while striking out six and walking two.

Beggs turned in an error-free defensive performance and turned two key double plays to stifle Meeker’s offense.

Meeker mounted a late comeback with a sacrifice fly and two RBI singles, but Beggs stayed composed to finish the win.

— Bottom of lineup powers Beggs to win over Haskell

The Beggs Golden Demons leaned on production from the bottom of their lineup to outlast Haskell Haymakers 9-6 on Saturday.

The trio of Carson Cooper, Lane Kelly and Kevin Monteque combined for four hits, five runs and five RBIs, lifting Beggs to a fast start and a comeback victory.

After falling behind early, Beggs answered with a six-run first inning, highlighted by Monteque’s two-RBI single. Carson Cooper and Ranson Stephens later provided crucial insurance runs in the third.

On the mound, Ranson Stephens started but was relieved by Landon Helt, who slammed the door with 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out four.
