Henryetta squads garner wins with explosive finishes

The Henryetta Lady Knights softball and Knights and baseball teams gave fans a string of exciting wins this week, showcasing powerful bats, lockdown pitching and momentum-shifting innings in both softball and baseball action. — Lady Knights’ Powerhouse Week on the Diamond The Henryetta Lady Knights softball team kept the wins rolling with a commanding 6-0 shutout over Kellyville to start their week.

In the first inning, Khloe Coates and Rachael Burden each brought in a run with clutch hits. RBI singles from 12 and 5 in the second helped Henryetta extend the lead. Keegan Hamric delivered from the circle, tossing two hitless innings, striking out one and walking one.

Later that same day, the Lady Knights faced Kellyville again and delivered a 13-3 victory, this time fueled by a 7-run first inning. Ailanee Hicks, Jayleigh Easter, Cambria Rodriguez and Keegan Hamric all added RBI hits. Hicks, Davis and Coates each had 2 hits, while Allie Davis and Ailanee Hicks contributed 2 RBIs apiece.

Against Mounds, the Lady Knights erupted for five runs in the second inning and added a threerun homer by Allie Davis in the fifth, securing a 9-1 win. Ailanee Hicks crushed another homer in the second to put the game out of reach. Hamric allowed just one unearned run across five innings.

The bats stayed hot Friday as Ailanee Hicks drove in six runs to power Henryetta past Mason 15-4. Hicks went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. The Lady Knights exploded for nine runs in the second inning. Allie Davis, Hailey Lewis and Kelsey Brandt added multiple hits to the offensive surge.

• Hailey Lewis: Multiple H, RBI vs. Mason — Knights earn two big wins over Millwood The Henryetta Knights baseball team hammered Millwood twice on Friday in decisive fashion.

In game one, the Knights scored 12 runs in the first inning en route to a 15-0 shutout. Hunter Bowdler led the way with a 3-RBI double, while Boston Morris, Mavrix Randleman and James Joslin also drove in key runs. Skylar Greenhaw pitched a gem, allowing four hits over three shutout innings.

In game two, the Knights used a 9-run fourth inning to put away Millwood 17-2. Landen Jones had a monster performance, going 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs, while Blake Gaxiola and Mavrix Randleman each tripled to spark the big frame. Landen Jones also pitched four strong innings, striking out five.

The team showcased aggressiveness on the base paths, tallying a combined 20 stolen bases over the two games, led by Perez, Morris, Randleman and Hill.

With solid pitching and timely hitting, both Henryetta squads are building serious momentum as the season heats up.
