Dewar’s Diamond Dominance
By PATRICK FORD Editor,

The Dewar Lady Dragons and Dewar Dragons continue to make headlines across the state as they each added to their impressive seasons this week – one with a nearly unblemished record, the other still perfect.

— Lady Dragons cruise past Bristow, improve to 20-1 Behind the bat of Emmy Hall and a solid team effort, the Dewar Lady Dragons soared to a 9-1 victory over the Bristow Lady Pirates on Wednesday. With the win, the Lady Dragons advanced to 20-1 on the season, continuing to show why they’re one of the top teams in the area.

Hall was unstoppable at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and a single, and driving in three runs. She set the tone early with a run-scoring single in the first inning, followed by a two-run homer to right field in the third. Hall also doubled in the fifth to cap off a perfect night at the plate.

She wasn’t alone. Emma Bear matched Hall with three hits of her own, and together, the duo led Dewar’s 11-hit performance.

In the circle, Cali Thomason was steady, allowing just one run on sev- en hits across five innings. She struck out one and walked three while limiting the Lady Pirates’ scoring chances.

Despite Bristow turning two double plays defensively, they couldn’t contain Dewar’s offensive onslaught. Tinlee Roberts led Bristow with two hits, while Liz Waltrip drove in the team’s lone run.

— Stats

• Emmy Hall: 3-for-3, HR, 2B, 3 RBI

• Emma Bear: 3 H

• Cali Thomason: 5 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 K, 3 BB — Dragons dominate Sperry to stay perfect at 25-0

The Dewar Dragons showed no signs of slowing down Thursday as they dispatched the Sperry Pirates 9-0, extending their undefeated run to a perfect 25-0.

The Dragons wasted no time jumping ahead, plating five runs in the first inning. Key hits came from Johnathan Wilson and Stoney Yaerger, who each knocked in two runs with timely singles, while Ayden Been added an RBI single of his own. Dewar padded their lead with runs in the second and third innings, capped by Luke Hankins’ RBI groundout.

On the mound, Ayden Been was dominant once again. The right-hander threw a complete-game two-hit shutout, walking three and striking out two in seven innings of work.

The offense remained hot, with Dewar again collecting 11 hits. Been, Wilson, Peyton Kilhoffer and Braelin Lewis each had two hits. Yaerger drove in a team-high three runs, while Jeron Brison added energy on the base paths with two stolen bases.

As the postseason approaches, the Dragons and Lady Dragons are peaking at just the right time. The Lady Dragons, with only one blemish on their record, continue to dominate both at the plate and in the circle. Meanwhile, the Dragons’ combination of deep pitching, solid defense and clutch hitting has powered them to a spotless 25-0 mark.

With the regular season winding down, all eyes will be on Dewar to see how far these red-hot squads can go in the playoffs.

— Stats

• Ayden Been: 2-for-4, RBI, 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 K, 3 BB

• Johnathan Wilson: 2-for-4, 2 RBI

• Stoney Yaerger: 1-for 4, 3 RBI

• Peyton Kilhoffer: 2-for-3, RBI

• Braelin Lewis: 2-for-3

• Jeron Brison: 2 SB
