Early voting begins tomorrow

Early voting begins Thursday, March 27, for the upcoming April 1 election, which features a wide range of school board, municipal, and county races throughout Okmulgee County and nearby areas. Voters who wish to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day can do so at the Okmulgee County Courthouse, Room 102, located at 314 W. 7th Street in Okmulgee.

Ashley Carnes, Secretary of the Okmulgee County Election Board, encourages all eligible voters to consider early voting as an option. However, early voting is not available at individual polling locations.

— Early Voting Schedule

• Thursday, March 27: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Friday, March 28: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Location: Okmulgee County Courthouse, Room 102 (314 W. 7th Street, Okmulgee) —Voters who require special assistance due to visual impairment, physical disability, or literacy issues can request assistance or utilize an Audio Tactile Interface (ATI) voting device to vote privately and independently. Voters should speak with precinct officials or contact the County Election Board directly to make necessary arrangements.

The April 1 election is a multi-district event involving 11 different entities. Depending on where they live, some voters may only see one item on their ballot, while others could have up to four. Voters can confirm their eligibility and preview their specific ballots by visiting the Oklahoma Voter Portal or by calling the Election Board office at 918-756-2365.
