Knights edge past Okmulgee in thrilling matchup
By DARRELL FROST SPORTS WRITER,

The Henryetta Knights fended off a fierce comeback attempt by the Okmulgee Bulldogs to secure a 54-50 victory on Thursday night at Henryetta High School.

The Knights came out strong, taking a commanding 32-20 lead at halftime. Henryetta’s offense was led by Skylar Greenhaw, who delivered an outstanding performance with 32 points, including four three-pointers. The Knights shot efficiently from beyond the arc, making 6-of-14 three-point attempts, and put together a crucial second quarter, outscoring Okmulgee 23-15 while shooting an impressive 9-of-11 from the field.

Despite trailing by 12 at the half, Okmulgee clawed its way back into the contest with a seven-point run. Down 45-36 in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs made another push with a 9-1 run, closing the gap, but Henryetta held strong to seal the win.

Henryetta’s supporting cast contributed to the scoring effort, with Talon Weaver adding 11 points, while Gavin Williams, Isaac Whitlock, and Maverix Randleman each chipped in three. Nakona Jonshon rounded out the scoring for the Knights with two points.
