Dionn Brownfield

Nakia Dionn Brownfield, a resident of Dewar, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Tulsa at the age of 50. He was born November 3, 1974, in Okmulgee to Fred Brownfield and Edna (Daily) Brownfield.

Dionn was a 1993 graduate of Dewar Public Schools. He married Claudia Thomas, August 30, 1997, in Dewar. He was also a member of Dewar First Baptist Church. He was Vice President of the Dewar Indian Community Center. He was a fireman for Dewar Fire Department and worked for Okmulgee County for 24 years, only retiring due to illness.

Dionn was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish, basically anything outdoors.

He is preceded in death by a son, Trisdon Brownfield; his mother, Edna Brownfield; and his mother-in-law, Donna Edmondson.

Dionn is survived by his wife, Claudia Brownfield; a daughter, Jamie Tarwater and husband Justy; a son, Thomas Brownfield and fiancé Emily Wallace; a daughter, Brentney Rich; grandchildren, Adeline Brownfield, November 3, 1974 – January 19, 2025

Trisdon Tarwater and Latha Beard; his father, Fred Brownfield and a brother, Derek Brownfield; also by a host of friends and other relatives.

Viewing for Dionn was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Integrity Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Larry Hall, Billy Peavler, Derek Weigand, Keith Green, Kerry Been, Josh Been, Doug Randall and Jason Herring. Honorary pallbearers will be Bub Connors, Steve Hunnicutt, Keith Scott and Howard Edmondson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Dewar First Baptist Church, with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Hoffman Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
