Upcoming HPS meeting to address key matters

The Henryetta School Board is scheduled to hold its regular meeting on Monday, January 13, at the Board of Education Offices. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.

— Superintendent & Department Reports The meeting will begin with updates from key personnel, including the Superintendent, Principal, Counselor, Athletic Director, and Maintenance Director. These reports will provide insights into the current status and challenges within the district.

— Financial & Operational Decisions

One of the significant agenda items includes voting on the approval of a phone presentation of the 2023-2024 school year audit by Sanders, Bledsoe & Gullekson. The board will also consider financial re- ports and encumbrances for the 2024-2025 school year and vote on proposed fundraisers to support various programs.

Additionally, the board will discuss and possibly approve the Athletic Winter Budget, which totals $8,500, covering expenses for girls’ and boys’ basketball and wrestling.

— Bond & Real Estate Matters The board will consider appointing acting leadership for handling matters related to the sale of a $1.48 million Taxable General Obligation Combined Purpose Bond. This bond aims to support the district’s financial needs. There will also be discussions regarding potential actions on real estate and a decision about awarding the Henryetta Public School roofing project.

— Educational Programs & Student Success The principals will present the annual dropout report for grades 7-12 and the annual college remediation report. These discussions are expected to highlight efforts to improve student outcomes and readiness for higher education.
