The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) will host an open house on Thursday, Dec. 19, to discuss proposed improvements to the US-75A and BNSF railroad underpass in Beggs. The meeting will take place at the Beggs Public High School Basketball Dome, located at 1200 Campus Drive, from 4-6 p.m.
ODOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are working to address the sharp curve and narrow underpass on US-75A near the BNSF railroad. The open house will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the proposed project and share feedback. The meeting will follow a come-and-go format with no formal presentation, and ODOT designers and staff will be available to answer questions.
Three improvement options are being considered:
• Option 1: Construction of a new bridge south of the existing underpass. This would shift US-75A slightly northwest to eliminate the sharp curve and tie back into the current highway alignment near 13th Street.
• Option 2: Construction of a new bridge north of the existing underpass. This option would partially realign US-75A to the northwest, eliminating the sharp curve and tying back into the alignment near 15th Street.
• Option 3: Development of a new east offset highway alignment that would bypass the BNSF railroad crossing entirely. This would involve creating a new US-75A/SH-16 junction about 0.6 miles east of the current location.

ODOT encourages public participation to ensure community needs and concerns are addressed as part of the planning process.
