--- Review of Dewar & Morris Public Schools EOP As part of our ongoing preparedness initiatives, I reviewed the Emergency Operations Plans for Dewar and Morris Public Schools. All required documentation has been completed and signed. The plans were found to be compliant with current state and federal guidelines, ensuring that both schools are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
--- Quarter 4 EMPG Grant Documentation Work has commenced on compiling and organizing documentation required for the Quarter 4 submission of the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG). This documentation is crucial for securing ongoing funding for our department’s activities. The goal is to have all necessary documents ready for submission before the end-of-quarter deadline.
--- Orion Damage Assessment Software Training I participated in a virtual training session for the Orion Damage Assessment Software. The software enhances our ability to assess and document damages in real time during disaster situations, improving response coordination and resource management. The training covered software functionality, data collection and reporting tools.
--- Floodplain Management
I answered two phone calls this week from prospective property buyers in District 2 and District 3. Both inquiries concerned properties located within designated floodplain areas. I provided information on floodplain restrictions and the steps involved in obtaining the necessary permits for development in these areas. Further assistance will be provided as needed to ensure compliance with floodplain regulations.
--- LEPC Quarterly Meeting
We hosted the quarterly meeting of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) at the Emergency Management Office. Key agenda items included:
• Election of Officers for the upcoming year.
• EOP Review and Updates, with a focus on incorporating feedback from recent drills and exercises Increasing Participation from governmental and non-governmental agencies in LEPC activities to improve coordination and resource sharing during emergencies.
-Agencies represented at the meeting included the City of Okmulgee, Dewar, Schulter, Okmulgee County and the Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority (OCCJA). Discussion centered on strategies to engage additional agencies to expand the LEPC’s reach and effectiveness.

Monitored and updated community regarding severe weather system that moved through Okmulgee County. No damage reported as the system moved through.
