As postseason fastpitch action heats up, the Dewar Lady Dragons and Morris Lady Eagles delivered strong performances in their final regular-season matchups, setting the tone for their Regional Tournament play. --- Lady Dragons breeze past Asher

The Dewar Lady Dragons were unstoppable on Tuesday, overpowering the Asher Indians with an 11-0 victory. The Dragons’ offense caught fire in the third inning, with Temperance Parker executing a sacrifice bunt, followed by an Emma Bear triple to give Dewar the lead.

The offensive onslaught continued in the fourth inning, where Dewar racked up five more runs on four hits. Jaycie Berry and Kinsey Maldonado both contributed with RBI singles, while Parker drew a bases-loaded walk, and Bear added two more runs with a single.

Brooke Thomas earned the win for Dewar, allowing four hits and no runs over three innings. Thomas displayed control, striking out one without allowing any walks. Temperance Parker came in to secure the save, backing up her three RBIs with a strong defensive effort.

Bear and Parker led Dewar’s offense with three RBIs each, while Alyssa Baughman and Bear both recorded two hits. The Lady Dragons played flawlessly in the field, committing no errors and turning a double play. Bre Harvell shined defensively with five chances.

For Asher, Mackenzie Thompson provided a bright spot with two hits and two stolen bases. Despite their efforts, Asher’s pitching struggled to contain Dewar’s lineup.

--- Lady Eagles surge past Okmulgee

In another local showdown, the Morris Lady Eagles soared to a 13-0 victory over the Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs on Monday, fueled by a massive 13run second inning. Morris strung together hit after hit, capitalizing on Okmulgee’s defensive struggles to pull away early.

Rhylee Whitaker and Chyla Marris started the scoring spree with back-to-back RBI singles. Errors by Okmulgee added fuel to the fire, allowing the Eagles to tack on additional runs. Kailyn Fixico doubled twice during the inning, driving in three total runs, while Alli Guynes contributed with two RBIs on a pair of singles.

Morris pitcher Fire Clark was untouchable, pitching three perfect innings with six strikeouts and no walks. Okmulgee’s Ally Lowe struggled on the mound, allowing 13 runs, though only five were earned.

Offensively, the Eagles collected 11 hits, with Guynes, Fixico, Abby Long and Marris each recording two. Morris also flexed their speed, swiping nine bases during the game. Defensively, the Eagles were flawless, with Paige Hall leading the way with six chances.

--- Postseason Action

Both Dewar and Morris headed into Regional Tournament play yesterday. The Dewar Lady Dragons hosted their Regional, while the Morris Lady Eagles competed on the road. The Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs wrapped up their fastpitch season at Regionals with losses to Silo and Kellyville.

As the tournaments unfold, both Dewar and Morris look poised for strong postseason runs, while Okmulgee shifts its focus to preparing for the next season.
