Lady Bulldogs dominate Liberty
By PATRICK FORD NEWS EDITOR,

The Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs showcased their offensive might on Tuesday, rolling past Liberty with an overwhelming 21-3 victory. The Lady Bulldogs, in their first win of the season, came out swinging from the start, taking control of the game with a big first inning and never looking back.

In the top of the first, the Lady Bulldogs quickly loaded the bases, leading to a series of productive plays. Dailyn Johnson and Mahayla James were both hit by pitches, each driving in a run. Cheyenne Jackson followed with a walk that pushed across another run, while Kiera Swayze singled to bring in yet another, putting Okmulgee ahead early.

Liberty managed to respond in the bottom of the first, as Mallory hit a two-run homer to right field, temporarily narrowing the gap. However, that would be the extent of their offensive success, as Okmulgee continued to pile on the runs.

In the top of the second, the Lady Bulldogs exploded for eight more runs, thanks to key hits from Cheyenne Jackson and Kennedy Penn, as well as a series of walks and hit-by-pitches that kept the inning alive. Okmulgee’s aggressive baserunning and patience at the plate proved too much for Liberty to handle.

The Lady Bulldogs weren’t finished yet, adding another eight runs in the top of the third inning. Tiah Harjo and Makiya Hill each delivered two-run singles, while Cheyenne Jackson and Chelina Tyndall also chipped in with RBI hits, sealing the game in dominating fashion.

Ally Lowe earned the win for Okmulgee, allowing three runs on nine hits over three innings while striking out two. Liberty’s pitcher struggled against Okmulgee’s relentless offense, surrendering 14 runs over two innings.

Tiah Harjo, Kiera Swayze, and Cheyenne Jackson each collected two hits for the Lady Bulldogs, with Harjo and Jackson driving in three runs apiece. The team displayed remarkable patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, and stole a total of 13 bases, led by Kennedy Penn, Dailyn Johnson, Brylee Edlin, Tiah Harjo, and Mahayla James.

On Monday, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Eufaula, 14-2, largely due to a 12-run third inning that turned the game on its head.

Eufaula exploded in the bottom of the third, scoring 12 runs on just one hit – a grand slam by Kadie Tidwell that broke the game wide open. The inning was marked by Okmulgee’s defensive struggles, with the Lady Ironheads capitalizing on walks and errors to take a commanding lead.

Despite the loss, Cheyenne Jackson and Chelina Tyndall each drove in a run for the Lady Bulldogs, who managed to draw five walks against Eufaula’s pitching. However, Eufaula’s aggressive base running and flawless defense ultimately made the difference, as they stole 21 bases and committed no errors.
