Board of County Commissioners Meeting

Attended the weekly Board of County Commissioners meeting, where key updates and plans regarding emergency management and community safety were discussed.

--- Okmulgee County Ambulance Authority Meeting

Attended the Okmulgee County Ambulance Authority. --- Water Trailers Acquisition & Deployment

Drove to Oklahoma City to acquire two water trailers. These trailers have been added to the inventory and are now operational, enhancing our emergency response capabilities.

Coordinated with Payne County Emergency Management and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management to fulfill a request for one water trailer to address water supply issues in Cushing.

--- FEMA Coordination

Attended a virtual follow-up meeting with FEMA regarding ongoing tornado recovery efforts. Discussed progress, challenges, and next steps in the recovery process.

Received additional documentation from FEMA necessary for the outdoor warning siren project, allowing the project to advance to the next phase.

--- Incident Responses

Responded to two incidents involving county equipment, ensuring quick resolution and minimal disruption to operations.

Managed responses to one structure fire and five grass fires, working closely with local fire departments to contain and extinguish the fires effectively.

Responded to grass fires throughout the county during the week.

--- Storage Building Updates

Completed electrical, insulation and plywood installation in the new storage building.

Organized the storage facility by installing six shelves from District 2 and relocating the Kubota Side by Side, John Deere Gator, and a 16-foot flatbed trailer from District 2 to the OCEM office.

--- Community Engagement & Training Hosted the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority (OCCJA) Jail Academy, providing facilities throughout the week for training sessions.

Supported the OCCJA Kids Camp by providing office space and staff attendance for one day of camp activities, fostering community engagement and education in emergency preparedness.

This summary highlights the department’s continued efforts to improve emergency response capabilities, collaborate with local and state agencies and engage with the community to enhance safety and preparedness.
