Vickie Lynn Pittman
Obituaries
August 14, 2024
Vickie Lynn Pittman

Funeral services for Vickie Lynn Pittman were held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Paden. Interment followed at Oakdale Cemetery of Paden.

Vickie Lynn Pittman was born in Fort Worth, Texas on June 14, 1957, to Jim and Naomi Tawater. She passed into eternity on August 5, 2024, in Paden at the age of 67.

Vickie enjoyed nearly 47 years of marriage with her loving husband, Terry. She felt her roles as wife and mother were her most important ones, and she created a wonderful home for her husband and daughters. Always active in church (both as a member and a pastor’s wife), Vickie most loved working with children – particularly four-yearolds. She also enjoyed many years of leading crafts in Vacation Bible School. Vickie especially made sure children who came to church without their parents felt included and loved.

As Aunt Vickie, she was a favorite among her nieces and nephews, often hosting visits in the summer and making trips to visit them. Two of her nieces attended college near her home and spent many weekends doing laundry and eating potato soup, June 14, 1957 – August 5, 2024

lasagna and oatmeal cookies at Aunt Vickie’s. She also welcomed her daughters’ friends into her home many times, treating them like hers.

Her hobbies included sewing, water aerobics, working jigsaw puzzles, watching Elvis movies, and reading aloud to her grandchildren. Vickie’s faith held a vital place in her life and kept her going through many hard times, including her final illness. She started each day with reading her Bible. Vickie enjoyed being a mother and she was amazing, but she delighted in being a Gramee. She was never happier than when her grandchildren were around.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Naomi Tawater; her siblings: Randy Tawater and Vernette Tawater; and two brothers- in-law: Mike Blair and Tom Pittman.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Pittman; her daughter, Kristee Ravan and husband, Jason, of Paden; her daughter, Kellee Tomlinson, and husband, Doug of Yukon; her sister, Valeri Blair, of Fort Worth, Texas; her brother- in-law, Mike Pittman of Bridgeport, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, and her seven grandchildren, Deanna Ravan, Kees Tomlinson, Kora Tomlinson, Cadee Ravan, Aiden Ravan, Kana Tomlinson, and Kyla Tomlinson.

Funeral services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah and officiated by Pastor Jason Ravan.
