Green Country Technology Center (GCTC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Gold Star School status by the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers (OATC) for the second time in its history. Out of the 39 technology centers across Oklahoma, GCTC was named one of only 21 to earn this distinguished award this year. This accolade recognizes technology center districts that have achieved a high level of excellence by meeting rigid and demanding criteria. The Gold Star School program provides recognition to districts with exemplary programs designed to meet a broad spectrum of community needs.

The Gold Star School status is not easily earned. It highlights institutions that excel in offering quality education and training that prepares students for successful careers. This recognition is a testament to GCTC’s commitment to providing top-tier education and to serving the community with programs that address the diverse needs of Okmulgee County and beyond.

Anthony Nieto, Marketing & Communications Coordinator for GCTC, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, “Having been with GCTC for just two years, I am incredibly proud that during my tenure, our institution has once again been recognized for the outstanding work we do in caring for our students and stakeholders. This achievement reflects the dedication and expertise of our entire team, who are committed to excellence in all we do.”

For over 30 years, GCTC has provided specialized skills training in Okmulgee County with the goal of ensuring that students are prepared to succeed in the workplace. The school is truly committed to excellence while developing a skilled workforce.
