What’s better than having a beard? Using that beard for a good cause. That’s exactly what’s happening! This year, during the First Family Federal Credit Union Smokin’ Hot Car Show, Henryetta will have its first ever Beard and Stache Competition.

Registration will start at 10 a.m. and competition at 11 a.m. Entry is free for all four categories:

• Full Beard

• Mustache

• Free Style

• People’s Choice The People’s Choice winner will be chosen based on donations. The contestants will be given a container at registration and the contestant with the most donations will be the People’s Choice Winner.

All container donations will be given to the Henryetta VFW Post 539. The top winner in each of the four categories will receive prizes including a custom hat by Big Horny Ranch LLC and beard and mustache products from Modern Viking Beard Company, both Oklahoma-based companies.

Registration for the competition starts at 10 a.m. at the Briefcase on Main Street, and the competition begins at 11 a.m.

The Henryetta VFW will be set up with information on Veterans Services, along with photo opportunities.

Another new event this year is a pin-up pageant. This event begins at 10 a.m., so be sure to come early and show the ladies some love.

Outside on Main Street, the First Family Federal Credit Union Smokin’ Hot Car Show will start registration at 8 a.m. Make sure to stop by all the Main Street shops that open.

There will be vendors and food trucks up and down Main Street in Henryetta until 2 p.m.

You will have plenty of time to catch all the extra activities planned in part with this year’s Henryetta Labor Day weekend celebration.
