David Baldacci, American author and lawyer writing suspense novels and legal thrillers, celebrates his birth date as Aug. 5, 1960, in Richmond, Va. David Baldacci, American author and lawyer writing suspense novels and legal thrillers, celebrates his birth date as Aug. 5, 1960, in Richmond, Va. Baldacci graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1986 and practiced trial and corporate law for nine years in Washington, D.C. It took him three years to write “Absolute Power” while he kept his law practice. It was published in 1996 and later made into a film.
He has published over 46 novels for adults and seven for younger readers. His works have been published in over 45 languages in more than 80 countries. He has received several awards for his books and some have been made into movies and television series. His newest book, “To Die For,” will be coming out Nov. 12, 2024.
Baldacci and his wife, Michelle, a paralegal, married in 1990 and live in Fairfax County, Va. They have a daughter, Collin and a son, Spencer.
