The Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office (OCSO) is currently investigating a harrowing incident that unfolded near the Hwy 266 Deep Fork River bridge on the evening of July 25. Authorities responded to a distress call reporting a person jumping into traffic, leading deputies to discover a severely injured male individual in urgent need of medical attention. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, who was subsequently trans- ported by EMS for critical care. It was later determined that the victim had been forcibly abducted and thrown off the bridge after being bound with duct tape. During the investigation, the OCSO investigators identified and apprehended suspects linked to the abduction. One arrest was made immediately, with a subsequent arrest warrant issued for another suspect. The Okmulgee Police Department (OPD) played a crucial role in locating and apprehending Sean Lunney on the evening of July 25, pursuant to the warrant. Further developments in the investigation led to the recovery of a firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. Arrested were: • Brianna Nohmer, 18 - Assault with Intent to Kill, Kidnapping (no bond listed) • Jayson Dellwayne Lawson, 21 - Assault and Battery with Deadly Weapon, Attempted First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Kidnapping (no bond amount listed) • Sean Michael Lunney, 31 - Aggravated Assault and Battery, Kidnapping and Pointing a Firearm. Bond is set at $250,000. Sheriff Eddy Rice expressed gratitude to the OPD for their invaluable assistance in apprehending Sean Lunney. He commended the seamless coordination and teamwork among all Okmulgee County law enforcement agencies involved in swiftly responding to and addressing the incident. The case remains under active investigation, and Sheriff Rice added that no further details will be released at this time.
