A tragic collision on Thursday morning, July 6, resulted in the deaths of two individuals on OK124, just south of EW1130 Road, approximately 4.5 miles south of Henryetta in Okfuskee County. The incident occurred around 10:04 a.m.
According to reports from the scene, a 2018 Chevy Impala, driven by Michael Lang, 67, of Dustin, was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 2013 Kia Forte, driven by Kylie Puckett, 35, also from Dustin. The collision caused both vehicles to veer off the roadway, where they came to rest.
Lang and Puckett were pronounced deceased at the scene due to internal injuries sustained during the impact. Thomas Lewis, 68, a passenger in Lang’s vehicle from Okmulgee, was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Henryetta and was reported to be in stable condition.
Sheila Lang, 60, another passenger from Pueblo, was transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Tulsa with stable condition but suffered internal and lower extremities injuries.
Trooper Collin Anderson, leading the investigation from the Okfuskee County detachment of Troop D, indicated that both drivers appeared to be in normal condition at the time of the collision. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
Emergency response teams, including the Henryetta Fire Department, Okfuskee County Sheriff ’s Department, and Muscogee Nation EMS, were instrumental in responding to the scene and providing assistance.
Both vehicles involved were equipped with and had deployed airbags, and all occupants were wearing seat belts. Weather conditions were reported as clear, and the roadway, a twolane undivided asphalt stretch, was the site of the tragic accident.
The Henryetta Fire Department extricated Puckett from her vehicle. There were no reports of ejections or helmet use during the collision.
