Local classic car enthusiast Jim Beymer traveled to Oregon, Wisc. last week to the 2024 Nash National Auto Show.
Beymer won first place in category ‘K’ autos from 1954-1957. His entry was a 1957 Nash Rambler Rebel that he has completely restored.
“It took over two years to complete this project,” Beymer said. “I did the mechanical first, then the interior and finally a full body paint job. Parts are not easy to find as there were only 1500 vehicles of this model manufactured in 1957.” Beymer has been showing this vehicle for several years now and has won multiple times in shows around Oklahoma.
“It is a really rare vehicle and most folks have never seen this model of Nash before,” Beymer reported. The car is powered by a 327 cu V-8 engine and has a 3-speed/overdrive standard shift transmission. It has air conditioning and a Continental Kit which were the only two options offered in 1957.
The 57 Rebel was the fastest production car made that year, going from 0 to 60 in 7 seconds. It has a 108-inch wheelbase.
Congratulations to Beymer for this auto show win on the national level. Beymer can be seen driving his Rebel on “drag night” and at local car shows.
