Monday was the sixth meeting of the summer reading. Kathy Crosby talked about why we need a passport and all the places we need a passport. She then talked to the kids about different explorers Junior Biography books such as Coronado, Christopher Columbus and Lewis and Clark. She also talked about books such as “Heart of Courage” by Lois Walfrid Johnson and Jules Verne’s “A Journey to the Center of the Earth” by Kathryn Lay. Then, she read to them “Dora in the Deep Sea” by Christine Ricci. The kids then went on a scavenger hunt with their library passport hunting up letters throughout the library. A grand time was had by all. We still have two more meetings July 1 and 8. Also, kids, don’t forget to bring your reading records in by Aug. 9 to get your prizes.
