VFW Post 539 in Henryetta held its Feed the Vets program last Thursday at New Life Assembly of God Church. Numerous volunteers including post officers and members of the community assisted in the effort.
Helping at the distribution last week were a special group of young people from the county area.
The Frontier City Kids from Schulter is a patriotic group who support the missions of veterans. Their help last week is just one of the many things they do to help the community. Frontier Kids offers the opportunity for children to earn badges, participate in community service opportunities, explore the outdoors and learn the confidence and character to become great leaders.
Frontier City leaders include Elizabeth Ramos and Jamie Brandt, who are also teachers at Schulter Public School.
If any kids want to join the Frontier City Kids, they can contact Elizabeth Ramos at 918- 568-5224. VFW Post 539 sponsors the Frontier City Kids and the Dingers little league baseball team.
