County athletes showcase talents at All-State, Native All-State events

Athletes from Okmulgee County and all around the State of Oklahoma showcased their talents in events last week to cap off their high school careers.

The Oklahoma Native All-State Association (ONASA) held basketball, baseball and softball games in Okmulgee at the Claude Cox Omniplex and Bateman Park, and the first-ever Native All-State Football Game was held at Memorial Stadium in El Reno.

A bevy of talented 2024 graduates competing in Okmulgee included softball players Emma Duclos of Morris, McKayla Greenhaw of Henryetta and Emilie Stidman of Preston.

At the first Native All-State Football game at Memorial Stadium in El Reno, county athletes Jaylen Zackery of Morris and Jeremiah Harley and Asaiah Leybas of Okmulgee made the trip west, along with a crowd of supporters.

Also, congratulations to Henryetta High School’s Shelby Kilhoffer on receiving her All-State plaque last week at the Fastpitch All-State Banquet in Edmond. Kilhoffer wore the Lady Knight uniform one last time the following day in Edmond at Oklahoma Christian University, where she competed for the Middle East Team.

Zack Mullen represented the Dewar Dragons one last time at the All-State baseball game, also held last week.

Other All-State events will be coming up soon, as local athletes prepare to move forward in the post-high school careers.
