2024 Morris High School grads team up for final game

Seven 2024 Morris High School graduates were able to get together on the football field for one final time last week at the Pawnee Bill All-Star Football Classic.

Held at Pawnee Memorial Field on May 31, this was an unforgettable evening of football action and fun for graduating seniors.

The annual game brings together the top graduating senior football players from the region, showcasing their skills and representing their schools and communities. This game marks their final opportunity to suit up and shine for their high school teams.

It’s a unique and emotional experience that captures the spirit of the sport and their love for the game.

Three MHS football players and five cheerleaders made the trip to Pawnee to participate in the Red vs. White squads. In the days preceding the game, the athletes worked out with their respective teams, giving them the opportunity to get better acquainted with fellow 2024 graduates.

Football players Jaylen Zackery, Trey Daniels and Gage Adkins joined the Team Red squad which was coached by Hayden Garringer, Tristan Garringer and Cory Bales.

Team Blue was led by Coaches Marcus Long, Marshon Carthen and Scotty Patton.

The game was won by Team Red 2616.

Joining the All-Star Cheer squad were five MHS graduates, who have cheered together since before elementary school. They were sponsored by the Morris High School Cheer.

Donning red uniforms were Madison Fisher, Harlie Smith, Melanie Colwill, Raley Ingle and Briley Cagle.

The young ladies have participated in many competitions over the years, but this was the last time they cheered together at the All Stars event.

The All-Star Cheer was coached by Holli Rowe, Liz Mitchell and Brandon Burke.

The MHS graduates all have plans made for the future and are looking forward to exciting careers and what the next chapter in life will bring:

• Trey Daniels, son of Robert and Ashley Daniels, will be playing football at NEO, and plans to become a coach.

• Gage Adkins, son of Rese and Connie Hogan, plans to attend OSU in Stillwater.

• Jaylen Zackery, son of Billy and Maggie Guynes, will play football for NSU, and plans to obtain a degree in Cell & Molecular Biology and then move into Chiropractic Medicine.

• Madison Fisher, daughter of Mark and Peggy Fisher, will be finishing her Associates Degree in May 2025 at OSUIT. She then plans to attend OU School of Medicine to be a doctor.

• Harlie Smith, daughter of Shelli and Jason Benavidez and Charlie & Lynn Smith, is headed to Connors State College.

• Melanie Colwill, daughter of Jennfer and Ben Colwill, will be attending NSU to become a Registered Nurse.

• Raley Ingle, daughter of Doug and Rebekah Ingle, is attending Green Country Technology Center to become a LPN.

• Briley Cagle, daughter of Jason and Amy Cagle, has chosen the University of Oklahoma, where she will be attending this fall to obtain a degree in Nursing.

Congratulations to all the 2024 graduates and here’s to a bright future, thanks to the support of family, friends, and the community.
