Athletes from around Oklahoma and Okmulgee County are competing in the Oklahoma Native All State Association (ONASA) sporting events this week in Okmulgee.
Yesterday, the Fastpitch Softball was held at the Claude Cox Omniplex, with Okmulgee County athletes Emma Duclos, Morris; McKayla Greenhaw, Henryetta; and Emilie Stidman, Preston, competing.
This evening, the Native All-State Football game will be held at Memorial Stadium in El Reno at 7 p.m. County athletes include: East Native - Jaylen Zackery, Morris; Nevin Corbin, Dewar; Jeremiah Harley, Okmulgee; Asaiah Leybas, Okmulgee. West Native: David Reid, Henryetta.
On tap tomorrow is the basketball tournament at the Mvskoke Dome-Okmulgee. The girls game will take place at 1 p.m. followed by the boys at 2:30 p.m. County baskeball athletes include Jervais Goree and Giorgio Dunn-Spencer of Preston.
Baseball action will begin at 6 p.m. at Bateman Park. Kellen Dean of Preston and Dustin Dunlap of Okmulgee are listed on the roster.
The ONASA was established in 2016 to recognize the state’s top graduating senior student athletes.
