Commissioners approve Plat, agenda items
By PATRICK FORD NEWS EDITOR,

The Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners covered a short agenda during their regular scheduled meeting Monday.

Among the agenda items was the approval of the Plat for “The Oaks at Twin Hills.”

“I spoke to the individual and he resubmitted it and he changed how the roads would be main- tained,” Commissioner Erik Zoellner. “They set up a HOA (Home Owners Association) instead of what his previous documentation showed as the county would automatically take them over. So we had a good visit and he has since corrected the plat and I make a recommendation for approval.”

— Agenda items approved were:

• Officer’s Report for the month of May from the County Clerk’s Office and the Okmulgee County Health Department (OCHD).

• Blanket Purchase Orders: OCHD to Amazon, $3000 and to Muscogee Nation for $500; District 2 to Cintas, $700, O’Reilly Auto Parts for $250 and Auto Zone for $250; Emergency Management to Dildine Lawn Care for $400 and to ComData for $1,000; General Government to Dildine Lawn Care for $400.

• Employee Forms: District 1, employee from full-time to parttime.

• Resolution for Disposing of Equipment: Health Department, small refrigerator to junk.

An update was provided about the Inventory Status of county departments. Requests have been sent out to all offices and employees are checking to ensure inventory is as listed and in place.

— Community Recovery & Preparedness Okmulgee County Emergency Management Director Jeff Moore gave his report: “The FEMA mobile registration Intake Center is now closed. Any resident that still needs assistance needs to get registered can apply online or contact the FEMA hotline. They’ll have until July 1, and then we’ll close off for this disaster altogether.”

Moore stated that there will be a scoping meeting Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Emergency Management Office with FEMA as the next steps of recovery move forward. Work has also been done on the UEI program to get federal payments back up.

“We also got the new stick decals put on a lot of our equipment,” Moore added. We used our light tower last night as we were called out to Henryetta to assist the Violent Crimes Task Force…” (see related story on front page.)

Commissioner David Walker asked about the status of the new storm sirens.

“I’m waiting to hear back from the State that we’re at that phase now where they send it to FEMA,” Moore said. “They send it back with usually a couple of questions … I would think by the next couple of weeks we should hear something back from them.”

Since there was no need to go into Executive Session, the meeting was adjourned.
