The Henryetta Lions Club met for their regular meeting May 2 at The Shack 2.0. Among the members present were Nita Robertson, Mylena Poulton, Bob Fowler, Shirley McCowan-Bussey, Shannon Henry, Sherri Crosby, Sheri Freman, Lindsey McKinney, Donnie Smith and Lou Ann Smith. Guests included Jimmie Bussey, Lion Shirley’s husband and Bruce Jones from the Henryettan.

The meeting kicked off with the Sunshine Report, highlighting Dewar’s success in the baseball State Tournament and Lion Nita’s grandson’s upcoming graduation and enrollment at TU, spreading joy and pride among members.
The Tail Twister segment led by Lion Shirley, featuring National Day of Prayer observances and fun facts about May.
Announcements included plans for the Meal Mob with visits to Mona’s and 75 Social in May. Members were encouraged to wear Lion swag and share their dining experiences on social media to promote community involvement.
In Old Business, preparations for the upcoming Rotary vs Lions Kickball game in July were discussed, alongside plans for Lion Amber’s agenda at the Park Board meeting to secure approval for an event at Nichols Park. The event aims to raise funds for the Scholarship fund, with Lion Lindsey spearheading efforts to rally support and ticket sales.
Officer Installation ceremony is scheduled for July 11. Billie Been was Lion of the Day.
