Denny Hold

Denny Hold, affectionately known as Denny, a longtime resident of Henryetta, left this world peacefully on April 28, 2024, in Tulsa. Born on July 31, 1941, in Tulsa to Frankie S. and Juanita Marilyn (Watson) Hold, Denny’s life was marked by a steadfast dedication to his loved ones and his community.

Denny’s educational journey began at Henryetta High School, where he graduated with the class of 1959. His thirst for knowledge and service led him to briefly attend Oklahoma State University before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy on the USS Shelton DD790 as a sonarman during the Vietnam Era. Once discharged, he returned to his Oklahoma roots, attending Tulsa Welding School, graduating with honors, and setting the stage for a successful career.

Professionally, Denny worked for the Muscogee Creek Nation as a housing inspector and later lent his skills to Anchor Glass in Henryetta as a Maintenance Electrician until his retirement. His dedication to service extended beyond his professional life as he served on the Henryetta City Council and stayed actively involved in the community serving as the Commander of the American Legion. He also held membership in the VFW, NRA and the DAV. Denny married Rebecca Osmond on May 16, 2008, in Van Buren, Ark.

Denny’s passions and hobbies reflected his love for hands-on activities and the outdoors; he particularly enjoyed spending time with horses, caring for animals, playing pool, and honing his skill in target shooting.

Denny’s unwavering dedication to home and country, loving presence, and spirited energy will forever be July 31, 1941 – April 28, 2024

etched in the memories of those who knew him. As we mourn his departure, we also celebrate a life well-lived and honor the myriad ways in which he touched our lives. Denny’s legacy will continue to inspire us even as we say our final farewells.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

His life was anchored by his beloved wife, Rebecca Hold of Henryetta, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. He was an esteemed father to sons Terry Louis Hold of Dustin, and Justin Michael Hold, also of Dustin. His brother, Terry Ronald Hold from Dewar; Denny’s extended family, stepdaughter Shelly Harris and her husband Michael of Tulsa; step-grandchildren, Andrew Michael Harris and wife Savannah, Madeline Michelle Harris, and Matthew Grant Harris; and stepgreat grandson, Lucas Andrew Harris, will fondly remember his presence in their lives. His love and legacy also live on in the hearts of numerous nieces, cousins, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. David Shahan officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, with military honors provided by the United States Navy Honors Team.

Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon Street in Henryetta.
