Clara Ruth Earnest

Graveside services for Clara Ruth Earnest will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Okemah, with Pastor Kenny Searcy officiating.

Clara Ruth Earnest was born July 15, 1942, in Bakersfield, Calif. to J.T. Pearson and Eula (Jones) Pearson. She passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at her home in Okmulgee at the age of 81.

Clara was a resident of Okmulgee and a former graduate of Okemah High School. She and Dois David Earnest were married July 31, 1959, in Okemah. Clara worked in the shoe department at Walmart before her retirement. She had also previously worked as a caretaker in Okmulgee. Clara enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing and thrift store shopping. She also loved her family and truly enjoyed “being the boss.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margaret Ann Vanderslice and Herman Pearson and one son, David Dewayne Earnest.

Survivors include her July 15, 1942 – April 29, 2024

husband, Dois D. Earnest of the home; one daughter, Marsha Rose and husband Jeff of Dickinson, Texas; one son, Mark Earnest and wife Julie of Okmulgee; one brother, William Ray Pearson and wife Alberta of Bristow; one sister, Lois Cooper of Bristow; five grandchildren, Christopher Rose, Wesley Watkins and wife Caryssa, Jeffrey Rose and wife Kristal, Jessica Posey and husband Mike and Heather Earnest; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah.
