Okmulgee to host slowpitch festival

2-day event to begin Thursday at 10 a.m.

Langdon Field at Bateman Park in Okmulgee will be the site of the 2024 Okmulgee Slowpitch Softball Festival.

The annual 2-day event will take place Thursday and Friday with both days’ action getting underway at 10 a.m.

The festival will feature a total of nine varsity slowpitch softball programs, including five from Okmulgee County.

Along with the host Okmulgee Lady Bulldogs, the other county diamond squads competing at the 2-day festival include the Preston Lady Pirates, Dewar Lady Dragons, Wilson Lady Tigers, and Beggs Lady Demons. The other teams participating at the Okmulgee Festival are the Liberty (Mounds) Lady Tigers, Gore Lady Pirates, Tahlequah Sequoyah Lady Indians, and Sperry Lady Pirates.

Both days of festival action will begin with a county matchup with Dewar taking on Wilson in Thursday’s opening contest, while Beggs and Preston will square off in Friday’s opening showdown.

Below is the complete schedule for the 2024 Okmulgee Slowpitch Softball Festival.

11 a.m. – Okmulgee vs Liberty (Mounds)

12 p.m. – Liberty (Mounds) vs Wilson

1 p.m. – Beggs vs Gore

2 p.m. – Gore vs Dewar

3 p.m. – Okmulgee vs Beggs

4 p.m. – Sperry vs Tahlequah Sequoyah

5 p.m. – Preston vs Tahlequah Sequoyah

6 p.m. – Preston vs Sperry — Friday’s Schedule

10 a.m. – Beggs vs Preston

11 a.m. – Beggs vs Dewar

12 p.m. – Preston vs Gore

1 p.m. – Liberty (Mounds) vs Dewar JV

2 p.m. – Gore vs Liberty (Mounds)

3 p.m. – Dewar vs Tahlequah Sequoyah

4 p.m. – Tahlequah Sequoyah vs Wilson

5 p.m. – Okmulgee vs Wilson
