Powell to retire as First National CEO

Cable to take the helm

First National Bank & Trust (FNB) announced that Kyle Powell will retire at the end of March after six years as the bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and 23 years with the organization.

President Jared Cable will become the new CEO effective April 1.

Powell, who will remain on the bank’s board of directors and continue in an advisory role, started his career in 1981, bringing decades of experience and leadership to FNB since joining as EVP and Chief Lending Officer in 2000 and serving as President and CEO since January 2018.

During his tenure, Powell has been instrumental in guiding the bank through numerous advancements and maintaining its commitment to community values.

“It has been an honor to serve as CEO of First National,” Powell said. “Since becoming CEO in 2018, it was always my intent to serve in this capacity for 5-6 years before giving the opportunity to the next generation of leaders. I am most proud of helping our team prepare for the future, and it is now their time. I know with Jared Cable and Terry Costanza, COO, at the helm, First National will continue to be a top performing bank. As for me, I am looking forward to pursuing other interests and new challenges.” Fred Harlan, Chairman of the Board, expressed his gratitude for Powell’s leadership.

“Kyle has been an outstanding leader, deeply committed to our bank’s success and the well-being of our customers. We are grateful for his years of service and are pleased he will continue to contribute as a director and consultant.”

First National Bank & Trust, a cornerstone of Okmulgee, remains dedicated to providing high-quality banking services and supporting the growth and prosperity of the communities it serves.
