OC Emergency Management Report

• Monday: At the office completing reports. Attended BOCC meeting and spent remainder of day at the office working on Floodplain Review and reviewing quotes on various projects. Worked on the outdoor warning siren grant.

• Tuesday: Worked on inventory at the office, including updating equipment lists and devising availability status. Worked on policy and devising equipment preventative maintenance and equipment testing. Worked on Emergency Operations Plan.

• Wednesday: Worked on Local Emergency Planning Committee invitations and updates for 2024. Spoke with L3 Harris Radio about presenting their products and potential updates to radio system. Spoke with Alertus Advance Warning Systems regarding system for Okmulgee County. Contacted by Kenneth Anderson City of Okmulgee Emergency Management regarding Rave 911 which is used for current mass notification. Contacted dispatch to ascertain if they were still utilizing system. Responded with Twin Hills Fire Department on gas well line that had been cut.

• Thursday: Spoke with a resident who wanted to parcel out land he owns at 234th & 190 Rd. Discussed floodplain issue with Northern portion of property. Drove to the property to inspect the proposed area that was being split. I also contact RWD 6 who advised all lots must have 30 feet of county road frontage. Property owner told me he was aware of their requirement. Property owner was told to provide a drawing of proposed lot split as well as have the property surveyed. Owner was also told that the lots that had the floodplain running through them would be heavily regulated on building. Spent remainder of afternoon at office with Volunteers cleaning the main storage room. Thursday evening I attended the Council Hill Fire Department meeting. We were invited to attend as well as Muskogee and McIntosh County Fire Departments that responded along with Council Hill Fire Department to fires. We advised their Fire Departments that we would assist in any way possible when requested.

• Friday: Spent the day at office working on reports along with Emergency Operations Center procedures. Followed up with Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management regarding mitigation grant.

• Saturday: Attended New Vehicle Technology Training (Electric and Hybrid) along with Henryetta, Morris and Dewar Fire Departments. Training provided by OSU Fire Service Training.

• Monday: Off for President’s Day. At the office late afternoon. Met with citizen who came into office regarding various emergency management operations and goals. Prepared for and had volunteer monthly meeting at office at 6:30 p.m. 13 volunteers were in attendance. Discussed goals and strategies for 2024 along with severe weather season and storm spotter training Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Green County Technology Center. Also discussed trainings and other opportunities for volunteers for public outreach and response during severe weather and fire season.
