The Henryetta City Council convened Tuesday to address a variety of topics pertinent to the community’s development and welfare.
Among the items approved was the recommendation from the Henryetta Economic Development Authority to provide up to $160,000 to fund the proposed Sanitary Sewer Line Extension Project between the City of Henryetta and Casey’s General Store.
The new store will be constructed on the northwest corner of Dewey Bartlett and Hwy. 62, on the western edge of the city.

Discussion on a request for two projects at Nichol’s Park ensued as the wording of the item caused concern with some members of the council. The initiative was brought to the Parks Board by the Nichols Park Restoration Committee to remodel a room at the caretaker’s house to be used as an office when events are held at the park. The committee also sought to adopt the three rock bathrooms in the park and the bathroom in the caretaker’s house for refurbishing.
The Parks Board approved the requests during their last meeting.
The council approved the office remodeling project with a 3-1-1 vote; while the second items were approved 4-1.
