Peggy Hill Brown
Obituaries
February 16, 2024
Peggy Hill Brown

Peggy Hill Brown, former resident of Schulter, was called to her eternal heavenly resting place from her home in Donna, Texas on January 29, 2024, due to complications following heart surgery. She was 74.

Peggy was born October 5, 1949, in Henryetta to Benjamin Junior Hill and Wanda Stidman Hill. She graduated from Schulter High School with the Class of 1967.

In June 1970, she married Steve Brown at First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta. To this union were born two sons, Stephen Brown of Skiatook and Bryan Brown of Tulsa.

Steve, Peggy and their two sons lived in Skiatook, Ulysses, Kansas and Kilgore, Texas. Peggy and Steve loved to travel and their trips took them from coast to coast east and west, and north and south. In retirement, their travels took them through the south Texas Rio Grande Valley, where they decided they liked the mild winter climate and chose to settle down in Donna, Texas. Both Steve and Peggy loved music and both played in a country band in Donna. Peggy was often their lead vocalist. In the hot summers, they packed their motor home or fifth-wheel trailer and headed for the hills of October 5, 1949 – February 13, 2024

Colorado where they resided for months and continued to play music. Their musical enthusiasm was key to meeting many like-minded friends who enjoyed jamming together.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Steve Brown; their two sons; a sister Nancy Hill Terrill and her husband Richard of Ponca City. Also, six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, in Alamo, Texas.

A celebration of Peggy’s life is planned for 11 a.m. May 25, 2024, as part of the Annual Stidman Family Reunion at Schulter Baptist Church in Schulter.
