The Henryetta City Council approved several ordinances and abatements during their monthly session Tuesday.
The three resolutions approved will allow the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to replace three bridges in the city. Those bridges are:
• Resolution No. 1298 – City Bridge in Henryetta Over Unnamed Creek on W. Broadway, 0.1 Mile West of Walters Road NBI 02592, Project Number J3-8450(004) RB, State Job Piece Number 38450(04)
• Resolution No. 1299 – City Bridge In Henryetta Over Unnamed Creek on W. Moore St., 0.02 Mile West of Walters Rd NBI 08662, Project Number J-38451 (004)CB, State Job Piece Number 38451(04)
• Resolution No. 1300 – City Bridge in Henryetta Over Coal Creek on W. Corporation St., 0.07 Mile N of I-40 NBI 00960, Project Number J3-8449(004)CB, State Job piece Number 38449(04) Code Enforcement Officer Jody Agee shared photos and information with the council about four properties slated for abatement. The board approved abatement of property at 316 E. Spruce, 510 E. Gum, and 610 N. 3rd Street. They did grant a 90-day grace period for the property at 1207 N. Dollins Street to allow time for marked improvements at the home.
– Agenda Items Approved: • Financial Reports, Meeting Minutes and Claims for November; and Budget Amendment #24-1 for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
• Payment to Bank of Oklahoma in the amount of $40,528.66 for 2015 Note Series monthly payment.
• Payment to AEP/ PSO in the amount of $24,796.07.
• NASPO Value Point FMV Lease Agreement (Pitney Bowes) (Option C) with the City of Henryetta for Postage Machine.
• Waived rental and deposit fees to allow Tristan Demmitt to use Civic Center for free city wide annual community Christmas Dinner on Dec. 22. Mayor Michael Dickey added as a point of interest about a need to address the rental policy for the Civic Center, after several broken tables were discovered after the last event held there.
• Appointed City Manager David Bullard to the Board of Trustees Emergency Medical Service-A Trust.
• Approved a one time pay adjustment for all city employees (at the city manager’s discretion) of not more than $250.
– The board also approved a grant for the Henryetta Fire Department in the amount of $24,000 for equipment. The grant is an 80/20 match.
The council entered into Executive Session to discuss “the employment, duties, and performance of an individual employee … for the purpose of confidential communications between the City Council, City Manager and City Attorney pertaining to a claim or action involving property owned by the City.”
Upon return to Regular Session, no action was taken.
City Manager David Bullard updated the council on various projects underway, and work is expected to begin soon on the 4th Street Booster Pump Station.
During the session of the Henryetta Municipal Authority, the members approved awarding the bid for the 4th Street Booster Pump Station to Quicksilver Utility Contracting of Wellston, based on the recommendation of Myers Engineering.
