“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at last he will stand upon the earth.” (Job 19:25) How often we seek God’s help in times of stress! We call on Him, knowing for certain that relief is coming in God’s own time. Today’s words are a good addition to our thoughts in times of trouble. Sometimes we need to realize that it isn’t all about us, but that our story, even while being written, is being read by another. That story we present must echo forever the name of the Lord if we’re to be of any use to Him, which is a big part of our purpose here. When sending up those prayers for salvation, remember that God isn’t just some omnificent, omnipotent being, unattainable by us sinful beings, but He is attentive to our needs, omnipresent. His greatest desire is to see us enter into His gates and praising His name. He is in no way a bandaid, a Mr Fix-It, someone to call only in case of emergency. He is our Maker, our Guardian, our Father, our Lord. He deserves to be praised night and day, 24/7, without pause. His love is so boundless that He allows us to live our lives, with all its messiness, hectic disarray, and distractions, and still accepts us. Would we, could we, ever be that forgiving? Give thanks in all things, whether good or bad, that we are His children, winners of the everlasting prize of forever with Him. Shout to the world, “I know that my Redeemer lives, and at last he will stand upon the earth!” Carry that joy with you, day and night, wherever you are, and share it when the opportunity presents itself. One day, you’ll be standing before the Father and He will say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
