Wrestlers from 16 different Oklahoma schools competed last Monday at the Warner Eagle Classic at Warner High School.

Amongst the huge tournament field, three Okmulgee County schools sent several wrestlers to compete at the allday tournament.

The three county schools that had wrestlers compete at the Warner Eagle Classic last Monday came from Dewar, Morris, and Wilson.

All three county schools had wrestlers compete in the high school portion of the tournament, while Morris and Wilson also had representatives in the middle school portion of the tournament.

In the middle school girls side of the tournament, the top county team was the Wilson Lady Tigers, who finished with a total of 24 team points. The Morris Lady Eagles finished with a total of 24 team points.

The Morris Eagles were the top county team in the middle school boys tournament, finishing with a total of 78 team points, while the Wilson Tigers finished with a total of 25 team points.

The Morris Lady Eagles edged the Dewar Lady Dragons as the top county team in the high school girls tournament, finishing eight points ahead of their county foes (38-30) at the allday event.

In the high school boys tournament at Warner, the Morris Eagles finished with a total of 58 team points for top county honors, followed by the Wilson Tigers with 43 team points.

For the Lady Dragons, the top individual performer last Monday was Emma Corbin, who finished third in the high school girls 170-pound weight division.

Other Top 5 finishers for the Dewar ladies at Warner were Hannah Corbin (120 lbs.) and Vicki Faulkner (190 lbs.) with fourth-place finishes and Jaycie Berry (120 lbs.) with a fifthplace finish.

The Lady Eagles had one lone representative in the middle schools girls tournament with Harley Miller taking home the silver medal in the 120-pound weight division.

In the high school girls tournament, the Morris ladies were led individually by Skylar Owings, who captured the gold medal in the 115-pound weight divsion.

Laney Daniels was the only other Lady Eagle wrestler to compete in the high school girls tournament last Monday, finishing third overall in the 110-pound weight division.

In the middle school boys tournament, the Eagles were led by Darrin Caudle, who took home top individual honors in the 126-pound weight division.

The duo of Gabe Terriquiz and Randon Wright captured silver medals for Morris last Monday. Terriquiz finished second in the 92-pound weight division, while Wright was runner-up in the 98-pound weight division.

Kaden McClain was third overall for the Eagles in the 126-pound weight division in the middle school boys tournament, while Chance Rutland also earned a Top 5 finish at the event, finishing fourth overall in the 80-pound weight division.

Emmett Motten (112 lbs.) and Jake Hurt (126 lbs.) also competed for Morris in last Monday’s middle school boys tournament in Warner.

In the high school boys tournament, the Eagles’ top individual performers were Andrew Bruce and Jace Allred. Bruce captured the gold medal in the 190-pound weight division, while Allred was the individual champion in the 215-pound weight division.

Other Top 5 finishers for Morris in the high school boys tournament last Monday were Isaiah Taylor with a third-place finish in the heavyweight division, while Grant Clay finished fifth in the 144-pound weight division.

Carson Hurst was also a participant at last Monday’s all-day event for the Eagles, competing in the 126-pound weight division.

The Lady Tigers had one representative in the middle school girls tournament – Macy Dobson. Dobson took home the top individual medal in the 110-pound weight division.

The Tigers had three representatives in the middle school boys tournament last Monday with Izzayah Bear leading the way individually with a runner- up finish in the 195-pound weight division.

Willy Kelley took home the bronze medal for the Tigers in the middle school boys tournament, finishing third overall in the 86-pound weight division, while Ethan Carney was fourth overall for Wilson in the 140-pound weight division.

In the high school boys tournament last Monday, the Wilson squad was led by Zechariah Tecumseh, who captured the individual championship in the 126-pound weight division.

Ethan Lee took home the runner-up medal for the Tigers in the 144-pound weight division, while Esiah King was a participant for Wilson in the 132-pound weight division at the allday event.
