Morris, Henryetta to open cage seasons Tuesday

Both county schools to begin 2023-24 at home

The varsity basketball programs at Morris and Henryetta will kick off their 2023-2024 campaigns this Tuesday (Nov. 28) with home contests.

The Henryetta cage program, who will introduce new girls head coach Scott Belcher, will begin the new season against the Hugo Buffaloes and Lady Buffaloes at the Knight Event Center, while the Morris basketball program, who will introduce new girls head coach Brittni Foster, will kick off its campaign against Mingo Valley at the Don Shoemake Sports Complex in Morris.

Both season openers will get underway with girls action at 6 p.m. followed by the boys contests at approximately 7:30 p.m.

After the season openers, both teams will next go to battle with the Eufaula Ironheads and Lady Ironheads. Morris will travel to Eufaula next Friday, while Henryetta will make the trip to the McIntosh County school on December 5.
