Lou Ella Bunch

December 26, 1941 – November 11, 2023

Lou Ella (Stubbs) Bunch was born on December 26, 1941, in Henryetta, the daughter to Woodrow “W.R.” and Hazel Stubbs. She was one of two children. Her sibling was a brother, Richard “Dickie” Stubbs.

Lou Ella grew up in Henryetta and graduated from Henryetta High School in 1959. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University for the next two years. She met the love of her life, Charles Bunch, while they were both working at Sunoco. They married on November 13, 1963, in Tulsa.

She and Charles moved to Broken Arrow where she worked for Broken Arrow Public Schools as an Administrative Assistant.

As ‘mom’ to all who crossed her path. The most notable was her going on every band trip for her daughter Tami and being at every livestock show for her son Jimmy when they were in high school.

After her children grew up and were off on their own she enjoyed many trips around the United States with friends and family alike.

Lou Ella attended First Nazarene Church in Broken Arrow for many, many years. She participated in ongoing church activities and lunches. She also enjoyed monthly dinners with Charles’ high school classmates. Lou Ella loved playing card games, doing word searches and listening to her gospel music.

She will be missed by all who crossed paths with her.

She is survived by: Husband Charles Bunch of Broken Arrow. Daughter Tami Bunch of Spavinaw. Son Jimmy (wife Kimberly) of Spavinaw. Grandchildren Timothy (wife Katie) of Broken Arrow, Kaylah and Jhenna of Spavinaw and great-granddaughter Addison of Broken Arrow. A niece and nephew and several grand nephews and grand nieces.

She was preceded by her Parents W.R. and Hazel Stubbs and brother Dickie Stubbs.

Funeral service will be held November 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. Graveside service will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta.
