The Bulldogs remained winless on the season after coming up on the short end of a 30-0 outcome to their District 2A-7 opponents.
The Okmulgee squad will close out its regular-season schedule this Friday with a trip to Morris for a meeting with its county rivals, the Morris Eagles.
Friday’s battle in Morris is scheduled to get started at 7 p.m. at Larry Bookout Field.
In Okmulgee’s home finale last Friday, the visitors opened the scoring with an 8-yard TD run by Landen Brooks at the 9:07 mark of the first quarter. Rory Hansen’s successful extra-point kick gave the Pirates an early 7-0 advantage.
Sperry doubled its lead to 14-0 with 7:43 remaining in the opening frame on a 10-yard TD run by Jameson Allen and successful PAT kick by Hansen.
The Pirates found the end zone twice in the second quarter for a 28-0 halftime lead. The first score for Sperry in the second quarter came on a 25-yard pass from Brady Benham to Jett Booth at the 10:31 mark, while the other second-quarter score for the visitors came on a 13-yard run by Brooks with 1:39 left in the first half. Hansen successfully toed the PAT kick to complete the 28-point first half for the Pirates.
The final tally of the contest came on a defensive safety with six minutes remaining in regulation to hand the host Bulldogs the 30-0 setback.
