Historical Society President Mike Doak spoke at the Rotary Club and the Lions Club meetings about his addictions, which included telling people about the many benefits of Woodmen of the World and trying to inspire others to help clean up Henryetta’s business district.
Henryetta High School graduates from the classes of 1959, 1960 and 1961 met at the Civic Center for pancakes. After they visited with their classmates, they departed for the old high school gym to participate in a pep rally. After the pep rally was over, they went down to “Drag Main” as they did back in their high school days.
FFFCU presented a beveled edged crystal trophy to A.L. “Bud” Gaither. Bud was elected by the membership 19 years previous. He retired as the First Family Board Director.

Henryetta Preschool student Kaytlyn Mott helped firefighter Dennis Mitchell during their fire prevention program.
Henryetta Choir Boosters presented a haunted hay ride and haunted house. Tickets were $3 for one event or $5 for both.
The Henryetta Public School system celebrated Red Ribbon Week. Various activities were planned for the students, including a coloring and poster contest.

Brenda Beymer and her little brother James Ray modeled their Halloween costumes before participating in the costume contest held at the 3rd Annual ESA Halloween Carnival.
High school students from seven area high schools participated in the 27th Annual Voice of Democracy Scholarship Program, sponsored by VFW Post 539.
Henryetta Elementary School students were entertained by a New York theatre group performance of “Young Jefferson.” The Performing Arts Repertory Theatre Foundation Program was co-sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts and Humanities Council and the Henryetta Ithana Club.

Union Laundry held a One Cent Sale the sale included quilts, rugs and cotton blankets.
Pybas Shoe Co. had a special on Oxfords. Selby’s Arch Preserver Oxfords and $9 and $10 Oxfords in women’s sizes 3-10 were just $6.85.
Henryetta Furniture Co. sold Quick Comfort Heaters for $13.50-$18.50. Customers were able to do payment or if they paid cash they could save 10%.
