The youth football programs at Beggs and Morris are enjoying successful 2023 campaigns after four weeks of action.

The two Okmulgee County youth gridiron programs compete in the Central Football League, which comprises of 12 teams and two 6-team divisions.

Beggs and Morris compete in the Southwest Division of the CFL, along with Liberty (Mounds), Kiefer, Kellyville, and Stroud, while the Northeast Division of the CFL consists of Inola, NOAH, Regent Prep, Sperry, Chouteau, and Victory Christian.

The Demons’ 1/2 grade team is currently 2-2 on the year and are on a 2-game winning streak, having defeated Inola (20-6) and Kiefer (18-12), respectively, while the other two Beggs squads have spotless 4-0 records at the midway point of the 2023 campaign. The Beggs 3/4 grade team has earned wins over NOAH (21-6), Victory Christian (39-0), Inola (6-0), and Kiefer (13-6), while the Beggs 5/6 grade squad has also defeated NOAH (27-13), Victory Christian (34-6), Inola (39-0), and Kiefer (20-6), respectively.

The Eagles’ 1/2 grade team is 3-1 at the midway point of the season, earning wins over Inola (2613), Chouteau (20-0), and Liberty (27-0), while the other Morris gridiron squads are currently 2-2 on the year. The two wins for the Morris 3/4 grade team have come in the last two contests - 14-12 against Victory Christian and 25-0 against Liberty, while the two victories in 2023 for the Morris 5/6 grade team have come against Inola (19-0) and Liberty (36-6), respectively.

Both county teams will be in action this Saturday with Beggs traveling to Stroud and Morris hosting Kiefer.
